My Friend's Place is located on
Franklin Mountain only 4
miles from the center of Oneonta, but boasts two great areas for
hiking - Emmons Pond Bog (a Nature Conservancy Preserve) and the
Audubon Society Sanctuary (where the Franklin Mountain Hawkwatch
takes place in the fall). At the end of the day, relax on
the huge wrap around porch with a barbeque and enjoy the view of
the acres of lawn and distant hills. Four other small
rental properties share this pretty 11 acre site and the owners
also live on the property. |

Ballgames of any kind can be
played on this huge lawn, just watch out for the
chickens! For additional family or friends, two
one-bedroom cottages are available - all newly and
beautifully renovated, each with A/C, gas grill and
front porch. This custom built house
boasts a spectacular great room with fireplace and a 22 foot
soaring ceiling and open staircase. Many French doors
surrounding the great room lead out to the large wrap-around
porch with summer furniture, hammock and gas barbecue. |

The kitchen is a cook's delight with a 6 burner stove
and a large center island. The first floor also
has a bedroom with a full bed, a bathroom and a large
stacked washer/dryer.
Take the magnificent
open staircase to the second floor with a large master bedroom
with a king bed and attached bathroom. There is also a
sleeping alcove at the top of the stairs with a sofa.

Because of the layout of the house,
it is an ideal place for families brining grandparents or for
sharing with another couple. The house is centrally air
conditioned. All necessary bedding and towels are
supplied. Housekeeping is not provided. |
